The third edition of the National Neurology Forum: patients, doctors, authorities, industry – together for the future of neurology
The EFNR was present at the 3rd National Neurology Forum (NNF), taking place on April 10-11, 2025, at the Palace of the Patriarchate in Bucharest, Romania. This year’s edition, themed “Policies in Times of Uncertainty: Between Pragmatism, Progress, and Partnerships”, focused on transforming discussions into actionable solutions for Romania’s neurology landscape.
The event brought together neurologists, researchers, officials, and industry partners to discuss and develop real-world solutions. This cross-sector collaboration focused on delivering measurable improvements for patients across Romania’s healthcare system.
The NNF featured plenary debates and 7 applied thematic workshops with active participation from experts in the field:
- Implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases;
- Neurodegenerative Diseases | Parkinson’s Disease & Alzheimer’s Disease;
- Multiple Sclerosis: optimizing care at the national level;
- Epilepsy: optimizing care at the national level;
- Headache and Migraine: optimizing care at the national level;
- Rare Neurological Diseases in Romania: optimizing care at the national level;
- Neuro-oncology: optimizing care at the national level.
A key highlight was the National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases workshop, led by Prof. Dafin F. Mureșanu and Prof. Cristina Tiu, addressing stroke care innovation, rehabilitation access, and telemedicine integration. The forum’s intensive workshops aim to optimize national care protocols.
During the NNF 2025, interviews with Prof. Volker Hömberg (WFNR President) Prof. Marc Fisher (ex-WSO President), and Prof. Elena Moro(EAN President) were conducted.
