The Interview with Prof. Bogdan O. Popescu, the Immediate Past President of the Romanian Society of Neurology (SNR), was conducted at the EFNR/WFNR Eastern Europe Regional Meeting in conjunction with the Bistrita Clinical Neuroscience Conference, which took place between 31 March and 1 April, in Bistrita (Romania).
The Regional Meeting focused on potential developments of neurorehabilitation in Eastern Europe, bringing together delegations from Romania, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and the Republic of Moldova.
The event embraced a multidisciplinary paradigm focused on elaborating a joint action plan and expanding the network and educational outreach of WFNR/EFNR.
During the interview, Prof. Popescu discussed the necessity of the National Strategy on Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases (SNBCC) pinpointing the importance of involving central and local authorities and underlined the importance of approaching cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases at different levels (prevention, treatment in the acute phase, and neurorehabilitation). Professor Popescu further shared his perspective on the complexities of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) along with the impact of multidisciplinary and multimodal approaches.
